Who We Are
The story of MELINE'S is inseparable from the story of a creative young couple who decided to convert their talents into an original idea.
Meline is Chinese, she studies art and is passionate about the cuisine of her country. Her dream was to feed on her experiences gained by travelling the world. She decided to leave her hometown of Liao Ning to explore the beauties of the world to discover different cultures.
After travelling to four continents, she moved to Paris where she met Thomas, an English chef accustomed to delighting the guests of some of the greatest starred restaurants in the world.
A meeting, two origins, a common passion for great taste, it was enough to give a particular meaning to their story.
Sichuan meaning in Chinese "four rivers" is a rich and fertile province, the largest in southwestern China. Famous for its plateaus, large forests, misty mountains, natural sanctuaries of giant pandas, it enjoys a climate that oscillates between wet monsoon winters and intense summer sun. In this province, the climate favours the development of a wide variety of plants, many of which are used in cooking.
Sichuan cuisine is famous all over the world for its subtlety as well as its spicy, aromatic and rich chilli flavours. It is one of the most characteristic regional cuisines of China. Chengdu is the capital of the province where Sichuan style cuisine originated from, it has also been honoured as the “world's gastronomic capital” by Unesco. Its culinary tradition is based on "the rule of seven tastes", salty, sweet, sour, acidic, aromatic (combination garlic-ginger), toasted nuts and seeds (mainly sesame) and spicy.
